Uganda Ebola fear spreads to capital - With suspected cases of Ebola Fever being reported in Uganda's capital, bank and supermarket tellers are wearing gloves to try to reduce disease transmission. Most cases are in regions bordering the Democratic Republic of the Congo, where the Ebola River gave the virus its name after some of the first cases were recorded in its valley in 1976. But rumours of deaths in the capital Kampala are sparking panic among officials, health workers and the public. Some people fear that contaminated money from the affected regions could cause an epidemic in the capital. The virus is transmitted through infected body fluids.
