She started off as a karaoke singer at the then popular nightspot Sabrina's Pub in Kampala in the 1990s before teaming up with another successful songstress, Iryn Namubiru, to form I-Jay. The duo split to pursue solo careers. In 2004, she work the Best R&B Artiste Pearl of Africa Music (PAM) award. She followed it up with five PAM awards in 2005 - Best R&B Artiste, Best R&B Single, Most Inspiring Song, Best Female Artiste and Song of the Year for her song Mama Mbire.
